Dahilayan Adventure Park Guide: Rides, Fees and Cebu Route

Ren Calago

Dahilayan is a cool, breezy pocket of Manolo Fortich in Bukidnon, and it is where a lot of Mindanao's adrenaline sits: a zipline that drops about 100 meters, a mountain coaster, a free-fall platform over a lake. Two parks share the hill, Dahilayan Adventure Park and Dahilayan Forest Park, and they run separate gates with separate tickets.

The catch for Cebu travelers is that there is no direct way in. You cross to Cagayan de Oro first, then climb into the highlands, so the trip is a question of sequencing as much as spending. Below: what each park charges, how the transfer from CDO works, and how to line up the ferry or flight without losing a day.

Prices at theme parks move without warning, so treat the figures here as a budget guide and confirm them on the park's booking page or Facebook page before you pay.

What Dahilayan Adventure Park Charges

Entrance is PHP 100 per person and rides are sold separately. The headline ride is the 840-meter zipline, PHP 500 a go, which falls roughly 100 meters and can hit about 90 kph. Riders are carried up to the launch tower in a 4WD vehicle, which is part of the experience. The two shorter lines, 320 and 150 meters, are PHP 250; ask at the booth whether that covers both lines or one. Published limits are commonly listed as 40 to 75 kg and at least 4 feet tall, and staff make the final call on the platform, so heavier or smaller riders should message the park first.

The rest of the menu: Razorback mountain coaster on a 600-meter track at PHP 400 solo or PHP 600 for two, Dropzone (a 120-foot free fall toward a man-made lake) at PHP 500 solo or PHP 750 tandem, Python Roller Zipride at PHP 300, Sky Tower Base Jump at PHP 400, and an adult ropes course at PHP 300. Bundles are where the savings are. The ZipChallenge package at PHP 1,000 covers the three ziplines, the Python and Dropzone, which would cost well above PHP 1,500 bought one by one. A Zip-all bundle is PHP 600, and AllZip plus Razorback is PHP 1,000.

Forest Park Is a Different Gate

Next door, Dahilayan Forest Park is more resort than thrill park. Day entry is PHP 150 for adults and PHP 100 for children aged 2 to 10, with listed hours of 8 AM to 5 PM. The Forest Luge is PHP 650 solo or PHP 850 tandem for two rounds, and a PHP 900 ride package bundles the luge, go-kart, bumper boat, mini golf, canopy walk and hanging bridge. Family rooms are listed from about PHP 3,300 a night, with free park entrance for hotel guests.

A rough split: the Adventure Park suits teens and adults who want speed, and Forest Park suits mixed-age groups and anyone happy with gentler rides and a long lunch. Keep the tickets straight, since a receipt from one park does not open the other.

Getting From Cebu to Cagayan de Oro

Flying is the simple route: Cebu to Laguindingan Airport takes about an hour, and the airport is roughly another hour from the city. Compare fares close to your dates, as they swing widely.

The ferry works as transport and a night's lodging. Cokaliong lists overnight sailings from Cebu City on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7 PM, arriving about 7 AM, with economy fares from around PHP 1,400, though the schedule page warns that current fares may run higher. 2GO lists two weekly trips of about eight hours, but its schedule has been shifting with weather disruptions, so confirm before you book. From CDO to Dahilayan: Shuttle or Bus

The easiest option is the Magnum Express shuttle from Limketkai in CDO, which leaves at 9 AM for PHP 249 one way or PHP 498 round trip. It takes about 90 minutes, and the return leaves at 4:30 PM from the parking area in front of Forest Park. Book the return seat ahead. That gives you roughly six hours on the hill: enough for the big zipline, a coaster ride and Forest Park, but not for a slow day.

The cheaper, looser option is a bus from Agora Terminal bound for Malaybalay, Valencia or Davao. Get off at the Manolo Fortich junction, then take a habal-habal for the last stretch. Agree on the fare before you climb on, since quotes vary. Allow extra time compared with the shuttle, and head back down before late afternoon, when fog and rain tend to roll in.

Watch the ferry timing if you are stitching it all together. A 7 AM arrival is tight against a 9 AM shuttle, and the listed Cokaliong sailings back to Cebu leave CDO on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 7 PM, so a same-day return from the park leaves almost no margin. Flying in, or sleeping one night in CDO, is safer.

Communal Ranch Is a Separate Day

Impasug-ong Communal Ranch, with its open highland pasture and horses, is often pitched as an add-on, but it is about 1.5 hours' drive from Dahilayan. Entry is PHP 50 plus a PHP 20 environmental fee, and horseback riding is PHP 250 an hour, mornings only. You must register at the Impasug-ong Tourism Office first, and the last stretch is an unpaved road that turns muddy in the rain, usually done by habal-habal. There is no ATM nearby, so carry cash. Treat it as its own morning, or as a reason to stay a night in the highlands.

When to Go and What the Weather Does

The dry months, December to May, are the safest window, and March and April are often recommended for clear skies. In the wet months, cloud can swallow the views. Nights run cool, around 16 to 18°C, so pack a light jacket. Rides can pause for rain, wind or maintenance even when the park is open, and weekends, holidays and school breaks bring longer queues.

A Realistic Budget and Whether It Is Worth It

A focused day from CDO costs about PHP 1,600 before food: PHP 498 for the round-trip shuttle, PHP 100 for entrance and PHP 1,000 for the ZipChallenge bundle. Add Forest Park entrance and a solo luge ride, and it comes to roughly PHP 2,400. Cebu to CDO transport and a night's stay sit on top of that.

Is it worth the detour? If you want cool highland air and a few hours of proper thrills, yes, and the Magnum shuttle keeps the hill leg simple. If you only have a day in CDO and prefer water to altitude, the CDO white-water rafting guide covers another way to spend it.
